The Dervish
This rapture does not roar, nor does it come from vast expanses of enthusiastic audiences. This is
rapture in silence pure and complete. It is time to close my inner eyes. Long have I wandered seeking
my centre; a fool's preoccupation, a wild goose chase. But then again is that not in my very nature? I am
the rush of intellectual rivers dissolving into seas of innocence - an eternal moment in passing that shall
never pass, for its associated event has no reality. Nothingness alone is the source and sink of this infinite
tumult of peace.
Chanting "I Am" I swirled for eons, never tiring. Today I am tired, and thus have found that which I had
never sought. In this stillness beyond eternal motion I am Not. It is the Silence after "I Am" that Is...
